Academies and Free Schools are very different from most LA and independent schools, in that they have total control over their budgets, and often have budgets supplemented by sponsoring companies.
The specific curriculum requirements for academies are set out in their funding agreements, but generally, academies and Free Schools are required to provide a broad curriculum to include English, maths and science plus religious education.
Beyond this they have the freedom to design a curriculum which meets their pupils’ needs, aspirations and interests – which is what makes them particularly interesting.
And the total number of academies and Free Schools is growing all the time.
This is why we offer a service in which you can obtain a full list of Academies and Free Schools, and then have the list updated every month for a year, free of charge.
The list includes all the key information you require including the school name and address, school email address, age range, phone number, and the name of the headteacher.
Then every month we will send you, free of charge, the same details for all the new academies and free schools that have been opened that month.
Our list currently includes 1640 Academies, including the sponsored academies and the academy converters. The list is supplied as an Excel spread sheet, attached to an email, and the monthly updates are sent to you automatically in the same form.
The data comes with a licence allowing you to use it for your own company as often as you like for one year.
